Our contemporary higher education processes are focusing on efficient, proven business practices and often include some smart web application. However, latest digital information technologies and emerging quantum (computers) supremacy already in this decade provide dramatic changes in to societies, and our education as well. The quantum computing is billion (yes, 1'000'000'000) times faster than our present computers, and all passwords are 'open'; by ≈2030s some artificial intelligence systems (and human-like robots) may even on average become more intelligent than humans. Hence, the speed of thought becomes a daily operational reality, and numerous new educations opportunities emerge for all of us. I will critically examine some of the key trends and provide several examples, specifically chosen for visionary students, educators and bold entrepreneurs.

Covid-19 is one of the major disruptions that humans have encountered in recent history. Education is amongst the worst affected sector amidst the ongoing pandemic. Covid-19 has forced more than 90% of students in the world to study from home. In reference to academic governance, the current crisis has posed several questions to contemporary academic leadership across the world. Academic governance is challenged unprecedentedly in several forms including financial challenges, intellectual challenges, technical challenges, wellbeing challenges, employability challenges, and leadership challenges, among others. A very interesting development that academic governance discipline has been experiencing is that its focus is now moving away from a ‘crisis-driven transitory tactical approach’ to a relatively ‘sustainable resilient strategic decision-making approach'.
